WELCOME TO
WREATHS FOR WESTERN RESERVE

Wreaths for Western Reserve was formed to solicit donations for the placement of wreaths at the headstones of our fallen heroes laid to rest at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio. Wreaths were placed in December of 2007 through the Wreaths Across American organization in Maine. Many involved suggested this project be made "local" through the involvement and sponsorship of local companies.

Thank you to all who participated in the 2008 Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery wreath laying ceremony. Your efforts made it possible to increase our placements from 250 in 2007 to 950 in 2008. We will continue our efforts to raise awareness for this project so we will be able to cover more gravesites with each passing year.

The 2009 Nationwide Remembrance Ceremony date is scheduled for Saturday, December 12 at noon. The cut off date for fund raising through Wreaths for Western Reserve will be Wednesday, November 18th. Any donations received after this date will be used towards the 2010 wreath laying.

All wreaths placed by Wreaths for Western Reserve will be ordered through Wreaths Across America located in Maine and those wreaths will be shipped directly to the Western Reserve Cemetery. If someone would prefer to purchase a wreath and place it themselves, they can do so by contacting Worcester Wreaths directly at www.worcesterwreath.com. Each Personal Remembrance Wreath is $25.00 which can be shipped directly to your residence. The price includes a $5.00 donation in the name of the purchaser made directly to Wreaths Across America.

In order to uphold the dignity of the cemetery and maintain the utmost respect for our fallen heroes, we must limit the number of volunteers who will make placements. Therefore, the Young Marines organization will be making the placements.

We encourage everyone to visit the cemetery on the wreath laying date and attend the brief ceremony which will take place at noon. By doing so, we continue the mission to

~REMEMBER THE FALLEN~
~HONOR THOSE WHO SERVE ~
~AND TEACH OUR CHILDREN THE VALUE OF FREEDOM~
